SAVING YOUR PATTERN : Almost There
- For recap, PRESET MANAGER can be found in EDIT MENU
- Step 15
8. Select Patterns from the drop-down menu.
- Step 16
There’s our pattern!
9. Just like in custom shapes and brushes, you can save several patterns as a SET, but if you have only one made pattern and feel tired to do another pattern then it is alright to save it as a single pattern
Since we have created one pattern, we will still save it. Click the Save Set Button.
- Step 17
The extension file of a pattern is .PAT
- Well done folks! We had just created a Pattern! If you have followed the steps, you can already use it in your designs and background!
Let me show you, how it works!
- To test your pattern, here are the steps:
- File > New Layer.
- Select the PAINT BUCKET TOOL and fill the background with BLACK (choose any color you like).
- Since we will use our own made pattern which is ORANGE, I chose black as a background for the visibility of our pattern.
Step 18
3. While the PAINT BUCKET TOOL is selected, right click the Layer 1 and select “BLENDING OPTION”
Step 19
4. Layer Style Window > Check the Pattern Overlay and double click it.
- When you double click the pattern overlay, it will show you its Properties.
- On Properties, You can see a pattern thumbnail with drop-down arrow.
- Step 20
Click that button!
- From the pattern menu, you’ll see the patterns you made (if the patterns are not there, load it first)
- Step 21
5. Click OK.
Step 22
Well done! Now you know how to do it! It’s your turn now!
Note: You can use the scale property on the Pattern Overlay Properties, if you want to make your pattern smaller or larger.
